Over a 30-year career, more than seventeen albums to his credit, countless concerts, Alpha Blondy is undoubtedly one of the most popular international star of reggae. His message is universal and touches those who dream of a fairer world. At home, in The Ivory Coast, Alpha Blondy appeared as the voice of the voiceless to become a symbol of hope.
Vision (Wagram, April 2011) went gold, and Alpha dedicated the autumn of 2012 to the struggle for peace in The Ivory Coast alongside President Ouattara. He joined The Caravan of Reconciliation, a series of concerts across the country with Tiken Jah Fakoly, Magic System and Meiway.
In February 2013, Mystic Power was released by Wagram. Produced with the help of Dennis Bovell and with prestigious guest appearances (including Beenie Man), this album remains in the minds Roots, Rock, Reggae . The Mystic Power tour was a success with (numerous) sold out concerts at theaters (L'Olympia, Dairy Stereolux, Krakatoa, Siren, Carina, 106, Bikini, May Cooperative, Paloma ....) and prestigious festivals appearances around the world (Printemps de Bourges, Intl Jazz Festival of Montreal, Voice of Gaou ...).
Earlier this year, Alpha released his latest album Positive Energy, radiant and full of good vibrations. On this album, he collaborates with musicians from around the world: Jamaicans Tarrus Riley and Ijahman, the Congolese Pierrette Adams but also the Nawfel Tunisian and Moroccan Issam. And yet, in spite of his status of Commander of the African Groove, Alpha reinvents himself album after album. He has always steered clear of the pitfalls of formatting and tries to bring in something new to the mix -
Alpha Blondy continues to fight for peace and unity around the world through his refreshing and resolutely positive music.
